So what now?
Now that you have read and watched both versions of The Outsiders you will be placed into groups of four during class. You must as a group design a project board explaining to the class the differences, and similarities you found in both versions of The Outsiders using pictures, and textual evidence. Some ideas to reference to are the social bridges between the Soc's and the Greasers. An example would be that even though Cherry was a Soc, she and Ponyboy discovered their love for similar music, and literature. Be aware that you may include similaries and differences such as how you envisioned scenes and characters in the book to how they were portrayed in the movie (scenery, characters, attitudes, etc..)
Even though the book takes place in the 1960's, do you think that this type of social class inequality still exists? Use examples from the present day, and explain to the class your reasonings as a group. Remember that social inequality does not have to do entirely with social class. Social inequality could be discrimination on a certain type of people such as athletes, band members, members of the associated student body, and etc..
